[James I, King of England - Basilikon Doron Or His Maiesties instructions to his dearest sonne, Henry the Prince]. ie. lacks title and following leaf. head and tailpiece decorations, decorated initial letters; newly rebound calf backed marbled boards, with maroon spine label, ge., sm. cr. 8vo. [Edinburgh: Printed by Robert Walde-Graue printer to the Kings Majestie, 1603]. *an early Edinburgh printing; first issued there in 1597 (in very few copies) by the then James VI of Scotland. On his accession to the English throne in 1603 there were several London editions from that date doubtless to emphasise the new King's fitness for the monarchy.
